East Side House (ESH) is partnering with New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) to prepare young adults who are academically behind and experiencing impacts of poverty from the South Bronx for careers in the healthcare industry. Through its Post-Secondary Pathways (PSP) program, ESH’s role is to connect its students (the majority of whom are over-aged and under-credited and enrolled in partner alternative high schools) with career training opportunities that will lead to jobs – including lab assistants, certified nurses’ aides, patient care technicians, and security officers – at NYP.
