Genesee Community College (GCC) is creating a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) certification training program within its BEST (Business Employee Skills & Training) Center to meet the growing demand for skilled CNC operators and programmers in the Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming County (“GLOW”) region. GCC’s employer partners have advised that classroom-only training does not sufficiently prepare individuals for entry-level CNC positions; as such, GCC is outfitting the BEST Center’s hands-on training lab with the machinery that youth will use in the workplace.
